Stevens Model 44 two barrel cased set

This set started out as a typical Stevens Model 44 Rifle in 22 Long Rifle Rim Fire with a half round-half octagon barrel and a round barrel chambered for the 22 Winchester Centerfire. The rifle had a good butt stock but the 22 rimfire barrel needed a new fore end which I made.

For the 22 Winchester Center Fire barrel I made a new fore end and a long tube scope using the guts out of a wrecked 4 power weaver scope with a Malcom rear mount and a front mount I made. The Scope and both barrels were re-blued. A new Center Fire Breech Block, link and extractor was made with the breech block being fitted to seat directly on the Lever hump when closed taking the strain off of the link.

To house the set I made a case patterned after the early Parker Bros. shotgun cases in Butternut.
