The Tool Collection of my Great-Grandfathers

This is a viewing of my collection of antique Tools and Equipment that is based in a large part on items that belonged to two of my Great-Grandfathers, Frederick John Schuknecht of Fillmore and Hume, N.Y. and Philander Croop of Clarence, N.Y.

Frederick John Schuknecht (Oct. 2, 1867-Oct. 5, 1955)
Philander Casper Croop (April 26, 1850- July 13, 1930)

The first group of images are of the Tool Chest and Tools of Frederick Schuknecht.

The second group of images are of the Tool Chest and Tools of Philander Croop.

Last we have images of the workshop museum and the Seneca Falls Union Table Saw owned by Fred Schuknecht

Following is an image of two Hewing axe’s; the upper axe is an English style which belonged to philander Croop and the lower is a German Goosewing axe that no doubt belonged to Philanders father Caspar Croop (1817-1868) or quite possibly his father: Jacob Crope (1786- ). It may have been made in Germany or Pennsylvania where the Croop family originally settled after coming to America in 1738.
